What was it like searching for a bank that would give you a loan?
I pitched my business plan to a couple of other banks, and one bank did not take me seriously. That was the first place I went. That is, they didn’t take me seriously until things were really getting going, and then they came back to me and said, “Well, maybe we could have helped you out.” By then, it was too late.
What did you want from a bank?
I wanted the bank to help me whenever I needed something, if that should arise. It doesn’t happen that often, but if there is anything that we should happen to need — because starting a business is not an easy thing — I know I can rely on the fact that a representative from Evansville Commerce Bank is a phone call or personal visit away and that they will be eager to respond.

My husband Paul and I have personal accounts there. We just recently purchased a new home, and Evansville Commerce Bank made that happen, too.
